The newest Ocean Row Boat will be afloat at the Show on Berth 397
(next to Sunseeker).
Guy Watts and Andrew Delaney will be there with the Rossiter Yachts built ORS Int. boat >>>

 

The boat doesn't have a name yet but they are already raising awareness for their chosen charity Orchid - the only UK charity to solely deal with male cancers.
Guy and Andrew are entering the Indian Ocean Race next April 19th, they would be very pleased to see and pick the brains of any ocean rowers who are visiting the Show!

Two years ago, OAR Northwest rowed across the North Atlantic Ocean and into the record books.  The four Seattle rowers became the first-ever crew to row unassisted from New York to England, mainland to mainland.  On August 4th, OAR Northwest members Jordan Hanssen and Greg Spooner are taking to local waters for their next rowing adventure. Repaired  Carpe Diem has completed her recent adventure! This time the route took her not across an ocean: a Maltese Daniel Abela has rowed her "home" - from Sicily   to Malta, - for charity.
The challenge, supported by the Vodafone Malta Foundation has been held to raise funds for the organisation and pay for a dream holiday for terminally sick children and their parents, in an effort to alleviate some of the hardships the families go through. Daniel started from Sicily on June 19 and arrived
at Valletta Waterfront on June 22 2008

On May 6 2008 ocean rower Jordan Hanssen  finished his last adventure - bike ride across Australia, from Perth to Sydney.

Ocean rower Jan Meek took part in the expedition of 12 people trekking to the GEOGRAPHIC North Pole headed by British Explorer David Hempleman-Adams and Norwegian Explorer Rune Gjeldnes. See details >>>

On Feb 19 2008, that would be Peter Bird's 61st Birthday,  there was a Memorial Service  held in Kilkee, Ireland  in the memory of all ocean rowers  lost at sea.

in Ocean Four "Silver Cloud"
and became the youngest person (17) to have ever rowed across an ocean !!!

On Jan 23 team Oyster Shack   rowed 102 (statute) miles in 24 hours
Since the first 'Woodvale Four ' in 2004 this is the first time that this class boat has done
more than 100 statute miles  in 24 hours.
